Azerbaijan to invest $ 181 million in southern gas corridor
Ibrahim Ahmadov, Deputy Minister of Public Relations and Activities, SOCAR, Azerbaijan National Petroleum Corporation, said in an interview with Trend that the Azerbaijani Southern Gas Corridor Closed Joint Venture (CJSC) expects to invest about $ 181 million in the Southern Natural Gas Corridor project in 2020.
Ibrahim Ahmadov pointed out that to date, the Southern Natural Gas Corridor CJSC has used its project income, authorized capital and borrowings to invest approximately $ 9.9 billion in the Southern Natural Gas Corridor project.
BraIbrahim Ahmadov pointed out: "Since the beginning of 2019, the company has invested nearly $ 400 million to finance its share of the Southern Natural Gas Corridor project and plans to invest another $ 6 million by the end of 2019."
The Southern Natural Gas Corridor is one of the EU's priority projects. It plans to transport 10 billion cubic meters of Azerbaijani natural gas from the Caspian Sea region via Georgia and Turkey to Europe.
