2018 National Energy Conservation Week Starts
The National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, and Beijing Municipal Government jointly organized in Beijing the “2018 National Energy Saving Awareness Week National Low Carbon Day and Beijing Energy Conservation Awareness Week Low Carbon Day Activity Launching Ceremony”. This year, the National Energy Conservation Awareness Week was held from June 11th to June 17th. The theme of the campaign was “Energy Conservation and Protection of the Blue Sky”; June 13th was National Low Carbon Day, with the theme “Improving Climate Change Awareness and Strengthening Low Carbon Initiatives”.
China's energy conservation work has achieved remarkable results. From 2013 to 2017, China's energy consumption per ten thousand yuan of GDP has decreased by a total of 20.9%, saving 1.03 billion tons of standard coal. In 2017, the country’s total energy consumption was 4.49 billion tons. With an average energy consumption growth rate of 2.2% per year, it supported an average annual GDP growth of 7.1%, which provided important support for the construction of ecological civilization and high-quality development.
Ning Jiyi, deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission, said at the launch ceremony that energy conservation and efficiency improvement should be used as a source of measures to fight pollution prevention and control and win the battle to defend against the blue sky. Strictly implement the "double-control" system of total energy consumption and intensity, strengthen the evaluation of the "13th Five-Year Plan" and "Double Control" targets, and strengthen the assessment of target responsibilities.
Zhuang Guotai, deputy director of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, said that in 2017, China’s carbon intensity fell by about 46% compared with 2005, initially reversing the rapid growth of carbon emissions in the past period of time, in order to achieve the “13th Five-Year Plan” carbon intensity binding target and implementing 2030 The year laid a solid foundation for the national goal of independent contributions.
On the same day, a number of energy saving and consumption reduction measures were initiated. Beijing launched the promotion of non-stop charging activities, and at the same time launched the "Air temperature once again raises one degree" initiative; the first batch of energy consumption data from eight provinces and municipalities in key energy-using units' on-line energy monitoring systems is integrated into national platforms; it is planned to use contract energy management methods. The list of "100 public buildings" for energy-saving renovation was released, and 3 public institutions were organized to sign contracts with energy-saving service companies...
During this year's National Energy Conservation Awareness Week and the National Low Carbon Day Campaign, various local and relevant departments will hold energy-saving activities such as entering campuses into the community to disseminate energy-saving concepts, popularize energy-saving knowledge, promote energy-saving technologies, raise awareness of the public, and promote the formation of conservation. Energy-saving, green low-carbon consumption and low-carbon environmental protection social fashion.
According to the Xinhua News Agency, Nanchang, June 11 (Reporter Wu Hao), the reporter learned from the Public Authority's tenth anniversary publicity event in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province that the per capita energy consumption of public agencies in China was reduced compared to 2012. 15.21%, energy consumption per unit of floor area decreased by 12.39%, per capita water consumption decreased by 16.18%.
This year marks the tenth anniversary of the implementation of the “Energy Conservation Regulations for Public Institutions”. Relevant person in charge stated that the energy conservation management departments and public organizations at all levels of public institutions should base their efforts on deepening the effectiveness of their work and continuously consolidate the foundation for the development of energy saving resources for public agencies.
